Therapy from 6 to 12?

We hear a lot about therapy for young kids and for adults. But what happens with kids between 6 and 12? What is the adult version of Lidcombe or demands and capacities? And what is the kid version of fluency shaping and disfluency shaping (van Ripper, post block modification).

I know Tom. I feel for anyone of any age who stammers but I have a particularly soft spot for children aged around 6-12, as this was the time when I started stuttering. I personally feel this age group is really under-served when it comes to decent therapy programmes. The needs of these children are different as well. Maybe there are some professionals out there who can prove me wrong. Please do!! And if there are similar things to Lidcombe out there, can we please hear about them?

you must have meant stuttering modication. Any research evidence comparing fluency shaping vs. stuttering modification vs. integration of fluency shaping&stuttering modification.

If you do fluency shaping with adults, the counseling componeent should be added, right?

Counseling is always important. So are self-help groups.

I call stuttering modication disfluency shaping because it shows better clearer the aims; you either shape your fluency or you shape you dysfluencies.
