International Gathering in Buenos Aires in 2011?

Can one of my spies please let me know what is going on with the Facebook Group: International Gathering for People Who Stutter - Argentina 2011. Who is Jeffery Cane? Does this clash with the 9th ISA conference held in May 2011 in Buenos Aires, Argentina? Why did he put pictures from the last ISA conference on but called it international gathering in Buenos Aires?

Argentina will be hosting a giant 5 day party in Buenos Aires in May 2011 to bring people together who stutter or are interested in stuttering from all over the world to discuss stuttering treatment and support and generally have a wild and fun time meeting each other. Join this group if you are interested in being part of it and we will keep you up to date with all the details.

Yes, I've wondered about this. I left three comments on the group asking about this. All three were deleted and I'm now banned from the group! It seems odd that Jeffery Kane does not want to acknowledge any link with the World Congress for People Who Stutter, or deny it either.

Not entirely sure what the concern is about? Looking at the facebook profile the owner doesn't seem to claim to speak for anyone, just spreading the word.

I have no concerns as such. I am just interested in what is going on! ;-)

He is a smart guy it seems. I have privately exchanged some messages with him about your your concerns. It seems he is a stutterer from New Mexico. His sister-in-law is apparently an SLP in Chile and she told him about it and he wanted to help out. He did not give it the correct name for two reasons apparently: 1) to make is sound like more of a perty and thereby appeal to more general people who stutter particularly the young and 2) he did not have approval to start such a group as he knows the group organising will do their own "official" facebook profile. He seems like a nice guy but felt that Dave was being a bit rude and disrespectful to him in not seeing beyond his own interpretation of what was being done. Anyway seems like the ISA owes him a lot of gratitude and should read between the lines that this Congress is going to need to be very social if it is to attract more than a handful of people.
