And more Pagoclone speculations

More unofficial news by Justin who attended the conference that the Pagoclone study has ended:
After he [Maguire] spoke, he opened it up for questions, and a guy from the back of the room had asked him if he knew that the 4 year study had come to an end.

Dr. Maguire said that he did hear that they were ending the study...

The guy making the comment said that the drug has been absolutely life-changing for him, and that he received a letter and a telephone call to fedex all remaining drugs back to the manufacturer, and that the study was ending.

Dr. Maguire said that the 4 year study was ending abruptly, but another one was ongoing.
Indevus/Teva should send out a press release to stop the speculations, and they should allow the publication of the raw anonymous data so we can learn what has happened.

There HAS to be a drug released for stuttering and that's it. Maybe it won't be a cure for everyone but something NEEDS to be done! Stuttering affects people's lives greatly and it's about time pharmaceutical companies did something about it.

X-Files is right. Why is it so difficult to get a straight answer from someone...anyone about what's going on with the Pagoclone study?

The company wants to avoid the headline "PAGOCLONE FAILED", and does not allow anyone involved to speak out officially. So they prefer slow fuzzy propagation of the news...

Where is Dr. Maguire? Early last week, Dr. Maguire came in this forum and said, "I'll be able to confirm more details at the NSA convention this week. I'll also be discussing the updates on the stuttering classification for the upcoming DSM V. Jerry".
I mean no disrespect, but he has to know that there are many individuals all around the world awaiting his most respected input and opinions. I know that Tom is not a strong advocate of pharmacological therapy, and I respect his opinion, but I would submit that there are more of us out here who very much are axiously awaiting relief from a pill.
I know that Dr. Maguire reads Tom's blog, so why doesn't he update us?

I guess Jerry was pretty busy at the conference and stuff, and can't spend all day updating Tom's blog?!!

Check out StutterTalk's interview with Jerry Maguire at 30 minutes.

He said that the trial is finished. He is bound to confidentiality agreements, but expects the company to release some written press release or to answer individual questions. But he did reveal at the NSA conference.

Without any more details, your interpretation of the past is wrong. ;-)
